Duncan MacKinnon Reserve Pavilion & Community Centre

This multipurpose pavilion has a 500-seat grandstand overlooking the popular athletics track. An elevated netball spectator seating area compliments the athletics areas and each week hundreds of sportspersons use the pavilion and its amenities.

Functional areas of the building include community conference and social rooms, meeting room, commercial kitchen facilities change rooms and amenities. The ground floor has provision for umpires, athletics and netball team change rooms and amenities, storage for various user groups and a kiosk facility.

Externally the fabric of the pavilion is made up of coloured glazed bricks in a stack bond arrangement which compliments the vibrant Vitranamel cladding in showcasing the state-of-the-art building.

As part of the upgrade, FIMMA installed new infrastructure elements included rainwater harvesting initiatives for use in the amenities and landscape maintenance. As part of Council’s Green Building focus, the scope of works included the implementation of an advanced Building Management System (BMS) which records energy performance and statistics to ensure environmentally friendly outcomes.
