Good Samaritan Primary School Nazareth Learning Village

Client:
Catholic Archdiocese of Melbourne
Architect:
Harrison & White

FIMMA Constructions completed delivery of this Learning Village in 2016. Having previously completed numerous projects for The Catholic Archdiocese, our team were conscious of the level of quality finish required to help them and the school deliver their educational goals.

This facility represented a new approach to the educational needs of grade 1 and 2 students, designed largely to support flexibility and variety in teaching models, while encouraging learning in a group setting.

The scope of work required several stages, including demolition & relocation of existing portable classrooms, followed by construction of the Learning Village. This included 8 learning studio ‘pods’, each with up-to-date technology and bespoke reconfigurable furniture, all arranged around a central learning commons area. All pods are interconnected by an expansive timber composite decking and covered by an equally large fibreglass fly over roof.

With a striking colour scheme, the Learning Village provides an exciting, lively space and opportunity for students to learn in an outdoor setting, while providing ample protection from the elements.
