Grant Lodge, Bacchus Marsh Hospital (Under Construction)

FIMMA is proud to partner with Western Health to deliver the refurbishment of Grant Lodge, an aged care facility located on Clarinda Street within the Bacchus Marsh Hospital precinct. Western Health is a leading multi-site health service provider, committed to excellence in clinical and preventative care through innovation, research, and staff development. This project reflects their ongoing dedication to improving aged care environments for both residents and staff.

The scope of works involves a partial refurbishment of Grant Lodge, which currently accommodates up to 30 residents. The facility has seen minimal upgrades since its original construction and features shared bedrooms and bathrooms, limited support spaces, and outdated communal areas. We will undertake critical upgrade works to modernise the facility, improving privacy, creating a more dementia-friendly environment, and enhancing infection control measures. These improvements will bring the facility in line with contemporary aged care standards and significantly improve staff working conditions.

Our team is focused on delivering a high-quality outcome that enhances resident well-being and supports staff retention. The refurbishment will transform shared accommodation layouts, brighten communal spaces, and improve the overall amenity of the facility. We are committed to working closely with Western Health to ensure the project meets its goals while minimising disruption to residents and staff.

One of the key challenges in delivering this project is managing the staging of works, including decanting residents and mitigating noise and disruption during construction. We are implementing a carefully considered delivery strategy to ensure continuity of care and safety throughout the refurbishment process, maintaining clear communication with all stakeholders at every stage.
